Ok so I have pretty much sorted this is my head, and I believe I am legal to tow my caravan. BUT to be on the safe side can someone just confirm it for me on here. Like I say just to be certain. It may sound stupid but I wanted to check anyway.
So this is my breakdown for towing and my licence from the DVLA website-
Licences held from 1 January 1997
If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997 and have an ordinary category B (car) licence, you can drive either:
a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes or 3,500 kilograms (kg) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM (with a combined weight of up to 4,250kg in total)
a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as it is no more than the unladen or ‘kerb’ weight of the towing vehicle (with a combined weight of up to 3,500kg in total)
And my details are-
Kia Rio - Gross vehicle weight 1580kg and Minimum kerb weight 1154kg
Freedom Sunseeker 2007 - 780 kg MTPLM and 650 kg MIRO
So from all that I think I am well under both limits.
Thanks for reading!
