Judging by the excellent response from Tow Trust when I identified the 'bar fitted to our latest Saab (they kindly sent me FOC a Type-Approval sticker as there was not one on there) and reckoning that most if not all manufacturers will be as helpful, I suggest that you contact Bosal. Take as many pics as possible of whatever is there of the 'bar, advise them of the make and exact model etc of you car and I am sure they will assist you. It is after all in the interests of any manufacturer to give good service for repeat business.

I have a spare Bosal tow ball in the shed, I'll try to find which type it is. It is from our old Grand C4 Picasso but the ball itself fits a certain series of tow bars.

I've just had a look at the Bosal website and I think it's an AK4 that I have, I'll check properly later (I'm supposed to be cooking tea at the moment).

Hi Mick, I've had a look at my towball and it looks like the AK4 as shown in this link:

http://bosal.com/AUTOMOTIVEPRODUCTS/Aftermarket/Towbars/Detachable/AK4/tabid/321/Default.aspx

It looks like the Insignia uses a different type of removeable ball, if you have a look here you'll see the Bosal listing:

http://www.catalogue.bosal.com/pages/tow_carspecnr_list.php?query_nr=4&make=OPEL&model=Insignia&body=01&year=2009

Sorry if it is the wrong one, if you happen to be in the area you are welcome to pop in and try it if you like. Somebody like Towequipe might be your best bet, they seem to have a lot of stock and are quite helpful.

Have a good weekend.
Rob

I have a Bosal detachable and find that it is best to remove it on a regular basis and grease the locking pin as it quickly becomes very stiff and turning the locking/unlocking wheel is very difficult. I now only fit the ball when I am towing and remove it after returning home.
