Hi, Has anyone upraded their rear suspension on the 2010 range of CRV. I am toying with either changeing the springs or using those cusions.
Any advice/experience would be appreciated.
Thanks

Is your Honda is sagging when you have the van hitched up
I run my nose weight at 90kg (100kg being the max) and my CRV only drops about 2-3cm

If it sags at the rear end even without the caravan hitched up then it could very well be the telescopic suspension struts that need replacing and not the springs. The way to check this is to push down hard on the roof at one rear corner and then do the same at the other. The car should dip and rest but if it doesn't and bounces just once then this is evidence that the rear suspension units need replacing but you do have to replace them in pairs even if just one is defective. The rear struts are easy enough to remove and replace providing you have a trolley jack and the necessary tools required.

if your suspension drops as you claim , you must be carrying to much weight or there's something wrong .
I have towed close on 28,000 miles with mine with a noseweight of 85-90kg and the suspension only drops 2-3cm which is acceptable .
If you car is a 2010 model it will still be under warranty so get your Honda dealer to check it out

I find mine is to soft on rear and don't go over 80kgs on nose weight, was looking at fitting MAD assisters on it. However I have changed my caravan to a lighter one and not really tried it only on a short trip and still to experiment. On talking to our local Honda dealer they said quite a few of there customers have had assisters fitted to there CR-V's.

They do tell you on these forum's to run at maximum nose weight to get best stability. A little experimenting me thinks.
