hi has anyone ever towed with one of these im looking at a SEAT Altea XL 2.0 TDI Stylance 5d it is inside the 85% rule for my van just looking for some feed back
i got a seat ibiza as a second small run around in march and love it and am happy with seat

1400kg max tow with the kerbweight being a little over that.

Its not a popular car, Are you going to keep it for a long time?

Part of VW group so same 2.0tdi as fitted to Skoda & VW & forum members certainly consider these good towcars so it should be ok.

nice one tents i got the ibiza fr in march on a 13 plate it`s a cracking little car again vw engine in fact every part is marked as vw with the altea im just not sure about the 1400kg we want a fixed bed van in the future and the one we like is 1485kg but wont be getting this anytime soon untill the oldest son stops coming away with us going to look at it and drive it today also a volvo but thats a little older
or do i just fix the swirl valve on the vectra didnt want to buy 2 new cars in less than 6 mnths

It was a Seat Altea XL 1.9 TDI
But change to the new engine 1.6 TDI
It a 2012 Seat Altea XL TDI SE DSG and check this out it can tow 1500 KG and i have nothing but praise for my car it tows like a dream and very good on juice .
Check this one on Outfit Towing and Grampian 91 this does say in the Manual 1500KG

thanks for all the info and help guys but the car was awfull condition so we moved on got a 4x4 instead
