The silly part of the whole TCOTY thing is they test the cars at 85% Kerb Weight where it is legal. According to Skoda the Octavia weighs around 1330kg so 85% is 1131kg.
Looking at the back of Practical Caravan there are only 4 new caravans that are suitable.
There is no issue with it being a class winner, but overall TCOTY is a bit silly if you ask me.

Granted, but that is not the model that won the test.
The new model on its new chassis is significantly lighter than the previous model. It doubtless helps fuel economy, but will not make it a better tow car.
