Hi everyone quick question

I dont think my overrun is working correctly.

It very hard to push the hitch in. But when the hitch releases it springs out instantly.

Iv had some ramming when I brake harder than usual.

Am I right in thinking that the damper is fine as the hitch is springing out quick and the excessive force needed to push the hitch in supports this.

There is a technical term for the symptoms you describe, Its F***ed.
The damper should push in smoothly and slowly then return smoothly and slowly

You would say damper done then and not down to brake setup. Are they simple to change

About 20 minutes tops. Remove the hitch, then there is a vertical bolt (17mm spanner) at the back under the A frame fairing. The damper should then pull out forwards, Reverse the procedure for putting it back together. The correct way to put the hitch on is to fit a dowel in the bolt hole in the damper, then fit the hitch push it through with the bolt. But you can do it by fitting the hitch and use a screwdriver to align the holes

Take the damper off and check the hitch is not seizing 1st.

Do you use the grease nipples?

Disconnected the damper tonight. Nothing wrong with the hitch. Will change the damper when I get back Monday.

Cheers everyone. Changed the damper today and all sorted. The damper had lost its oil.
