Thinking about fitting a set of MAD assisted springs to my Mondeo estate to help when towing but are they really worth the money as they are £233 for the set?

Worked really well on the Passat I used to have, kept it nice and level for towing, and didn't effect the way it drove solo.
Mind you, they were only £120ish for the Passat as I recall. I wrote a carefully written letter to my I insurer and they agreed not to increase my premium (insurers not usually keen on suspension mods).
Noseweight is 85 kgs with my calibrated gauge and with two labs in the boot there is no room for anything else. When I have people in the back the tow bar grounds when on slopes such as ramps in multi story Car parks.

Superb improvement in overall handling on our 2005 Mondeo. They were a rear spring replacement and the handling and ride solo was excellent. When towing the difference was hugely noticeable. They were well worth the outlay. I wish my now towcar had them fitted!
Yeah it's a 2009 everything standard I am the first owner apart from ford as a demonstration car.

if your springs are tired, its not going to help, but rather than assisters, look at progressive springs, they have similar characteristics to normal springs with assisters, ie soft for normal loads, with the spring getting progressively harder under compression.

I used them years ago on a Peugeot 405 and they were very effective.

Hi I've got a 405 too and thinking of getting some as in my opinion, the torsion bar set up is useless for holding weight and encourages bad stability when towing. Did you notice a marked improvement when towing? And if you fitted them yourself, is it a simple enough job? Thanks
Seems they don't do one for the 405. Bizarrely they do for smaller cars like 106, 206, 205, I can understand 306 but that's ghee biggest they do of that generation? Strange
or phone them and have a chat. If you can measure the length you need and the inside diameter of your spring they may still be able to help, all it needs is an air bag the right diameter, and they can make you a spacer to accomodate the length required, if short.
They had to do this for me, worked a treat. You can let the pressure down if you need to, or if having lots of weight in the back or the van fastened on you just inflate them.
