Fairly obvious that the VW would win as the pickup had no weight in the rear which is why it was bouncing and secondly the pickup was only rear wheel drive. Sorry not a VW fan any more!

Why not try it with a real 4x4 ,(like a Hummer )not a 2WD pickup  and see what happens?

If you read the comments, you'll see that it was 4WD but a much more basic system.

Yes, it would have done better with weight in the back but then ditto for the VW.

As standard, the VW not only pulled it back, it also broke it .

That pickup, BTW, is a 6 litre V8 diesel, with slightly less power than the VW.
