I had a Zafira a few years back and the information I was given was identical with mixed answers to which I ended up paying out for a detachable towbar to be on the safe side. However, since then I have found out that you don't actually need a detachable towbar fitted to a vehicle with rear parking sensors and the reason is that it's not the towbar that interferes with the sensors but the socket/s that are fitted behind the the 16mm. fixing bolts. The solution is to have the socket/s fitted under the rear bumper on to the towbar but you will need an angled socket mounting plate fitted to the nearside of the towbar neck to achieve this. If you see the link below and look under the category 'Socket Plates' you will see the specific type you need as they sell both the 13 pin single and 7 pin twin plates depending which you need. If you buy the towbar from this company the towbar will probably already have a hole in specially for fitting this type of fixture so you would need to ask. I know for a fact that nobody supplies these on Ebay and I have done searches without any luck so by this contacting this company will save you time and they should be able to despatch one by post. I have one of their towbars fitted on my car which has rear parking sensors plus I have had two cars previously without any problems.
