We've just bought one - it's a heavy beast and our old 1.9 Audi struggled with it so we've bough a Santa Fe. What's the kerbweoght on your galaxy?
One thing to watch for is leaks round the external door to the lower bunk - there seemed to be loads of issues with water coming in and Elddis/Compass put an extra catch on (think that was the solution but I'll wait for correcting :-) Another issue is shower cracks - the shower tray is not well supported so some trays are cracked and leak (ESP round plug), the home solution is to seal the leak then put extra support underneath the shower tray.
We love ours, but if i ever buy a bunkbed layout van in future, I'll be sure to figure out how hard it'll be to make the bed in the top bunk first!!
Nope, as far as I know there's no issues with single axle and we've found it a pretty stable tow. The price is really hard to gauge - I had a spreadsheet (I am Spreadsheet Queen in our house!) with a list of prices, ages, specs and additional extras but have not deleted it, but it was just comprised of the prices that I saw any advertised at on here, Preloved, EBay, Gumtree, Caravan Finder the Caravan Club classifieds and Autotrader,
Also don't forget the Elddis Avante 556 is practically the same caravan but with different upholstery :-)
My 57 plate Smax 2L tdci pulls my 1600kg twin axle caravan ok. I try to keep it to 1550. That is the heaviest I would tow. The hand book shows 1750kg max and nose weight 80kg should be similar to your Galaxy?
Fred.
