I have a Touran 1.9 105 bhp and although slightly underpowered its a bloody good pulling car. Very stable and never let me down. So why is it it is never even reviewed in any of the towing awards etc just don't understand it's as good as any skoda or passat but why do they win all the awards.

Agreed, we have the same car and it did a great job of pulling our Lunar Quasar 546 from Staffordshire to Normany, France via the channel tunnel and back last month. 

I mentioned this to Practical caravan and they said due to a low budget they can't test all cars.

I have a Touran TDI 1.9 Lt. 105 BHP. It is my second one, and I have been towing at the maximum trailer weight of 1500 kg for over 8 years with these vehicles.
Pulling power has never been a problem, in the UK or France.
Someone once told me that the Caravan Club's reason for not reviewing the Touran is because the manufacturers would not give them a car for free.
Don't know how true that is!!!

We used to have a 2.0l 140bhp and it towed our 1200kg van beautifully. would always recommend one.
