Hi there hoping someone can help me with a slight concern I am now starting to have and could do without another sleepless night after the fight we had trying to get the damper out for replacement, which is now being done on Tuesday by trained BPW maintenance technician.
We have bought a winterhoff stabiliser to replace the standard hitchhead on our BPW chassis when we have the damper replaced. It arrived today and weighs a lot!!!
How will this affect the noseweight? It seems soooo heavy? But obviously it balances on the towball so it's actual weight won't be that or will it? Was never very good at maths or science!
Thanks Bob,
Was hoping that was going to be the reply. We always use the broom handle and scales (so they are the same height as tow ball)before setting off for piece of mind and we generally run it at 74kg noseweight, but just had a panic when I felt the weight of this thing.
Feeling a bit better now that I know that we have BPW technician fitting it and checking the undercarriage, he asked what colour grease was on the nipples, it's not blue like it should be so that could be a cause of the damper failure apparently as well as the brakes being out of alignment.
