After my previous thread of my golf diesel problems, i now need to get a petrol car but not too big sporty car to pull my the 1200kgs laden weight caravan, price between £7,000 to £10,000 (sort of thinking the ford kuga) but not too old, any suggestions would be great full please
I only do about 5,000 miles a year so 30mpg ish ok round town, but one car did jump out at me was the kia sorento & sportage, never looked at them before and in my price range, they look pretty smart the top of the range ones and some good reviews
I thought you were going to get the Golf sorted, it would be far cheaper to do that than splash out on another car, considering the Golf will be good for 500,000 miles
A work colleague has a Volvo estate on lpg, which he rates as a tug. (V70 I think).
We used to tow with a Saab 900 turbo, then a 9000 turbo, which were very good tugs but thirsty.
I remember out dragging a boy racer Fiesta from the lights uphill with the van on(upset him!) Mind you petrol was cheaper then and diesels were not so common!

At the minute I cant even open the dam bonnet, a VW chap came out Monday night, its over boosting and the dfm is going so all in all don't think I can get much change out of £2k. it is still under warranty till tomorrow but buy the time ive paid for a vat registered garage to look at it, take the turbo off send it off all to tell me it wear and tear its cheaper to have it recon'd. Ive had enough, going away at the weekend so going to think about repair or replace. repair then the common faults are sorted. replace could happen again !!! some cars are built on a Friday afternoon/Monday morning happens to everyone
