What is the best 4x4 for towing

By best - I mean

1)   Lots of power  (Torque)

2)   Good MPG

3)   A resonably priced vehicle

There is also the Skoda Superb 4x4 with 170 BHP tdi

Both Skodas will tow your van with ese, but why do you want a 4x4 when the normal 2wd skodas in diesel will tow it

The rangie is by far the best towing car full stop. You cannot include MPG into the equation, country road towing with my 4.6 HSE could encroach into the 10MPG region. (LPG at 66p a litre made it bearable)

Do they make 4x4 Mondeos, although I was not just commenting on my own car. Many modern cars combine a decent power with good mpg.

The best 4x4 is the one you can buy and afford to maintain and that you feel comfortable and confident with, everyone has their own opinion and driving style and whats right for one can be a nightmare for others, go and sit in as many as you possible can and drive them, you may not be able to tow with them but you'll get a feel,

My personal choice has been a Mitsubishi Delica, not economical but excellent seating position,comfortable and tows perfectly,others will hate it, but it suits my needs exactly.
