I would love it if my OH would give me a driving break and tow for a while but,she wont drive my car for love nor money, calls it my Tonka Toy,so I will just have to carry on,she does keep me supplied with tea etc

Its most unfair to say most women are not very good at reversing a car/caravan combination
Surely it should be ALL women are Rubbish at reversing !
How very dare you

I share the towing with my OH and although I would not say I like it, I do it, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I too feel that women who say 'ooooo no I couldn't possibly tow the caravan' don't give themselves a chance. Nothing is impossible you just have to give it a go.
We have a motor mover on the van so this makes it easier when arriving on site putting the van in situ.
Twurly

A lady arrived at the site we are staying at today driving a new sante fe and large caravan and 3 kids ,then put up awning and pup tent by herself and all the other bits and pieces all while keeping the kids occupied, very impressed
I do all the driving because I have to, I go alone with my dog, he is good but not that good. As far as all women are rubbish a reversing, that isnt really true or fair. I was complimented whilst reversing into a small space by a police officer who was visiting a house opposite where I was parking. So it does go to show "all" is a sweeping statement which cannot always be backed up!!
Both me and the wife tow our twin axle, in the UK and abroad, although being an HGV driver I do the reversing, but teaching the wife and she is getting there.
My friend does the driving when towing her van, while her hubby 'supervises'. She is very competent! I only tow my trailer, but hubby always insists on doing it if we are away together - problem is he stresses in case we need petrol or have to go down a single lane road, or get lost and have to turn around! I'm much happier going on my own - I was desperate to master the art of reversing it, so practised at the end of our cul de sac. Managed to do a 3 point turn with it at my second attempt so quite pleased with myself
SWMBO, does most of the towing, as she spends most of her free time with the kids in the van
every time she pulls up to a pitch she gets the usual do you need help, she has said you should see the look on the guys faces when she reverses the van perfectly, and the knowing look of smugness on their wives faces, she has not done a towing corse.
Her first ever tow was from Scotland to Cornwall, with the kids she learnt how to hook up from utube vids, legs up hook up connect electrics check them
We always have a squabble when we pick up our van. It usually ends up with Carol doing the towing - after all she has done the towing/reversing course.
I tell her she was "born to tow" - maybe she'll go for her HGV licence next.
