My latest motor was fitted with an Alko towball. A nice black one. Now when I opened my tailgate, ther was loads more room than with my last ball, which was not an Alko. Same model car. The Alko ball is a good couple of inched longer, as you know, to clear the stabiliser housing, and methinks a bit higher off the ground when fitted. The van tows OK with it, but there is an element of instability that is not there with the non Alko ball fitted now, or previously. in use with my last car Since I don`t use s stabiliser, an Alko ball is not needed. But doesn`t it seem strange that in order to use a stabiliser, one has to fit a ball which creates instability? Any philosophical thoughts (semi polite please) welcomed!
