Just an update on the cameras in general.
We have just got back from a 2000 miles trip to Holland (Nuenen engine show) and a run down to Carpentras in southern France.
The dash cam worked very well indeed, and we have saved about 85gb of files to look back through and edit/save later.
The rear view camera was really useful, let down a bit by sensitivity of the system to engine interference, probably alternator, and a variance in colour rendering after a long run, so that colours are not rendered correctly.
On the road it was very good to be able to see cars tucked tightly behind at traffic lights or in queues, and even with the problems mentioned, I'd still have it for the extra security it gives.
Of the two cameras fitted, one seems to have failed completely, but I haven't been in the back to check out the connectors, so possibly it is just an RCA connector come adrift. The monitor flying connector proved unreliable and very easily damaged, so it is taped up for now but we will make it a solid connection later.
The dashcam was useful and nice to look through the videos after a long day and reflect on some of the sights and scenes you had driven through, plus you can click the playback screen and take a high-res image straight off the screen.
Only got back last night so have a few things to do, but overall very pleased with the cameras front and back.
