I tow with a 2012 VW Golf 1.6TDI and it tows well but the mirrors and a terrible shape for attaching extended mirrors. I find that the rubber straps that hold the mirrors on tends to slip off towards the outside and they do not seem very secure.
I've thought about gluing, or screwing, blocks of plastic to the mirror casing to stop the straps slipping.
I wondered if anyone has tried this and can offer any advice or if anyone has any better ideas.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
The Milenco clamp on type mirrors will probably do the job, they clamp onto top edge of mirror casing, a bit more expensive than most but fit most cars.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Thanks for all the replies, it seems that I need to invest in Milenco mirrors, or mirror arms.
