If it is a single black socket, then that is for caravan road lighting only, you will need an extra socket plus wiring for caravan fridge operation, battery charging and caravan reverse light if fitted.

Why not get the car wired up to a 13 pin socket, then get a caravan 13 pin plug with 2 cable entry at the rear for black  / grey cables, easy to do and then you are all sorted.

However if the car has a 13 pin socket it would be a downgrade to convert it to 2X7 pin sockets. Better to use an adaptor or get the caravan converted to 13 pin.
