From Wales to the east of Sheffiled to Wyming Brook Farm near Redmires reservoir. Would it be best to take the A57 which is nearer to Wales, or go to the A630 junction from the M1? Are there any problems from then on?
Thanks, does the A57 go through the centre? I only asked about the A630 as it appears to be a dual carriageway, but I see that it does join the A57. What about at the Redmires end, where is best to turn off the main road, bearing in mind that we are towing a big twin axle?
If you are coming from Wales you might as well go M60 around Manc onto M67 & the turn off onto A57 through Glossop. The 57 is ok, I used to drive it in an artic truck.
Hi there Mrs Bonce
We also live in Sheffield & if it was me I would take the A630 also known as Sheffield Parkway. The A57 is single carriageway & at least 4 roundabouts, the A630 is dual all the way into city centre, also A57 joins the A630 not as it looks on a map.
Try not to arrive at rush hour,it does get busy.
Once you reach the end of the Parkway then your problems start, there is no easy way to Redmires I'm afraid.
Hope you enjoy your stay and our city
I agree...the Parkway is the better option but dont envy you getting through to Redmires....enjoy Sheffield its a lovely place full of lovely people....ie ME.....

As well is two words!
