Watching our local news it looks like a 3 year old boy has lost his life in an accident involving a land rover and a towed cabin type trailer. From the film clip it looks as though the trailer has become detached.

The driver has not been arrested nor blame attached but it just serves to highlight the potential consequences of such a disaster.

Whether or not this driver made a mistake, it is very easy to do so.

Yeah. Terrible thing to happen.

Ive chatted to a few people and had a laugh when they have said they pulled off without the van or even towed 100's of miles and got to the site where it fell off or found it was only held on with the leaf type stabiliser.

But its only takes one incident.

Life changing incident for everyone concerned.

The towball appears to be still on the Land Rover, and both are on their wheels, so it looks like either a coupling failure or mis-couple.

The way the trailer is sat, it looks very tail-end heavy.

Sad about the 3 year old boy, horrible thing to happen.

I would guess at a mis-couple. Easy to do if distracted but that trailer is surely braked and should have a breakaway cable.
