Hi everybody, Just collected my Sorento from its recall visit for corroded rear axle brackets the dealer said it was one of the worst they had seen. The brackets were so corroded and thin you could almost bend them with you hands. How much work was done on your Sorento? And did you receive a letter from Kia as I did not and only read about it in the caravan magazine. Hate to think what could have happened!!
Only had mine serviced by a dealer for first three years then had it done at my local garage for last two years.Kia sent me a recall notice last November so had it checked at dealers but only needed cleaning and painting with under seal great service from the dealer this recall has been on Uksorento.com website for a few months now.
It is not actually a recall as such, because these are instigated VOSA, but as the bracket is a part of suspension ,it should be inspected on an MOT. All mine needed was the drain hole drilling and rust proofing.

same as me. I found out from a magazine, but mine weren't bad and they did them anyway. Kia are not too wonderful were recalls are concerned, though they told me it wasn't a recall just that as service bulletin recommended the work.
