Hi all
I'm still really dithering between getting an inflatable tent such as outwell one and a trailer (as dogs, children and equipment doesnt all fit in the car) or something like a camplet, I have about £2500 to spend . However one of my biggest issues is not having a garage or being able to afford monthly storage charges. I don't drive far and would be completely new to towing, I also need to be able to put it up all on my own for competing with my dog..
However I have seen a towbag trailer Link to Towbag (hope that link works). This seems to tick all my boxes especially as I can put the wheels and chassis in my shed once it's dismantled and the rest of it in the loft.
I would be going for the solid floor option. What are people's opinions?
Thank you
as a little camping trailer i think it looks great. A little pricey but a good solution for your problems. As to stirping down an alloy trailer so you can carry it really?i agree they come flat pack but to strip it down small enough to carry could take a couple of hours it you have to dismantle the chassis.
Thank you for your replies. I cant seem to find the trailer your YouTube video relates to anywhere in the UK Nawer?
Grampian - I had looked into the 'dismantling' side of the solid trailers as you have a valid point, but as a woman on her own, Ive got to be able to do it independently and several hours each trip just in trailer assembly is enough to put me off completely. I have got a Citroen Berlingo, so any trips to the tip etc tend to be done in that. I dont need to have lots of different uses, just to be able to go away on camping weekends :D
It is expensive though and that is one of the issues Im battling with. For the cost of an inflatable tent plus a trailer, I could buy a second hand camplet, but then Ive got the trailer storage issues!
You would be able to pitch either system easily. One thing to think about is the weight of an inflatable tent when its in its bag. As long as you can lift it in and out of a trailer then the weight is not an issue.

I dont know what storage issues you have. But the box comes off with just 4 bolts.
Electrics unplug. The box is light, My daughter can carry that on her own.
Or get some wheels fitted to the rear and wheel it through to where your going to store it.
Mine sits out in the weather. I just make sure water cannot puddle anywhere. As long as the water runs off and it dries when not raining you shouldnt have any rust issues.
great idea would be even better if all the dismantled parts fitted into the bag to keep them together. Unless this is an updated version ther are other collapsable trailers on the market.
Just checked the net and there is quite a few different designes available.
Have you got any links to the other collapsible trailers please as I can't find any?
As for storage I have my only outside storage of an 8ft by 6ft shed ( with lawnmower, three bikes and garden tools/car wash stuff etc) I have to get everything through an 18inch garden gate to get to my shed as there is a 4ft fence around my patio.
I saw it also on Dragons Den. I think the Dragons failed to understand the market & scope but depending on price I would prefer to see a collapsible metal trailer.
I agree, I didn't think the Dragons Den people thought that it's main market would perhaps be people who want to carry tents or camping equipment. I also seriously doubt whether any of them have ever lived in a house without a garage or many places to store things.
Click on google images then type in collapsable trailers.uk
then enter.
when the pictures comes up select a picture then click on its web site for more details
There used to be a folding trailer called duuo but a quick google shows it is no longer sold in the UK.
I've tried the links above but they're not working for me, the only folding trailers I can remember seeing were for motorbikes rather than luggage.
Janice, I was wondering where you would pack your trailer. Would you have to bring it from the garden to the road, build it up and pack it there or have you got a driveway or forecourt where you could do this?
I have no driveway or forecourt but I managed to modify my front fence so I could bring the trailer in to the front garden but I never found a way of getting it around the side of the house and in the back garden. I did think of putting a small trailer up on its rear panel on a trolley but without removing the body it would still be too wide to get through the gate.
