Yes quite agree. But you need to reprogram the ecu as it expects to see a change between egr position and air flow meter. This when the egr is fully shut more fresh air will be burnt, when half shut air flow to engine speed will be reduced, the ecu can either go to limp mode as the air to engine speed is not correct or help blow the turbo. I will add the diesel pump was not delivering enough fuel due the faulty suction control valves. I had tried blanking the egr but made not a lot of difference apart from causing the management light to come on.
