Only my second year of caravanning and my Volvo S60 2.0t has served me well it tows lovely however you know there's something on the back and it goes down to approx 22 mpg (SLURP)
Therefore I have decided to the change the Volvo and after doing some homework in relation to towing vehicles, I have decided to opt for a KIA SORENTO 2.5 CRDI XT Automatic which im picking up Thursday. I haven't driven an auto for years but im sure it wont take long to get the hang of it. I'm just wondering what the general opinion is for the Kia. Also it has a tow bar fitted already however my Volvo had the Alko hitch tow bar will it make a difference if the Kia hasnt???
If your Sorento is like my Santa Fe I'm not sure that your towing MPG will improve any - but it will tow like a dream :-) I switched to an automatic with ease last summer and could never have imagined the effort it's taking me to switch back to a manual!
You may also find that the sorrento has a swan neck or a removable towbar fitted, if it has either of these they are suitable for use with an alko stabilising hitch.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
