Hi all, i have a fiesta at present, and am lookingat a ford fusion hatchback 1.6 zetec. Does anyone else tow a caravan with this car. i only have a small freedom caravan.

The gross laden weight of the caravan is only 750kgs. My fiesta pulls it okay, and the weights are fine. So the fusion should be okay as a bigger car its petrol..

Its not really a bigger car though. Its taller but not bigger.
Check the logbook (V5C) but it should be 900kg for a petrol one.

The car can legally tow it & if its same engine as your Fiesta then it will tow it exacty the same.

If it's the 1.6 diesel Focus then the mpg. is incredible with 70 mpg. (solo). I had the estate and took a steady ride down to Weston Super Mare (120 miles at 55 mph. down M42 & M5) to put some mileage on the clock before having a towbar fitted and according to the average miles I got 71.5 mpg. Towing a caravan I achieved over 35 mpg.

No tango 55, its a petrol 1.6 auto. Have got it now. Absolutely love it. Haven't tried it out towing yet!
