Just bought a Subaru forester 2.0D suretrak, wondered if anyone out there has any experience of towing with one.
Had a solo test drive today and was very pleased with the power and how it stuck to the road.
Sales bloke got me to do a full lap round a roundabout, as fast as I could and it stuck like sh--t to a blanket to the road, great fun... Don't think I'll try that with the van on the back tho
Been looking at the kerb-weight of the Subaru sure track and it states its 1550, if this is the case my vans maximum load is 1380, which would take me upto 89 percent.
With this in mind I will now have too load the van only upto 1350, or put most of the weight in the car, which to be fair we do anyway.
At the moment we probably only have a payload of just over 1300 in the van, in which case it would come under the 85 percent safety margins
I don't think 4% is a big issue depending on how you drive and load the van. Also if you have more than the driver in the car you can soon add a 150 kgs with parent and child etc, then the heaviest things like awning etc in the boot. I reckon you will easily get 85%.
