Hi kind Folk....Mr UM here, seeking some advice.

I have just had a Witter Quantum detachable towball fitted and whist removing the paint from the ball I realised the assembly was in the "un armed" condition, and it shows red in the window.

I can recall messing this up myself many years ago, and then finding how to resolve it....but the years have taken their toll and I'm b*****ed if I can get the pin to go in and the window to show green.

I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealership, and the instructions say helpfully "make sure the window is showing green" but nowhere can I find how to sort it.....helpful, not!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

 I've pushed, pulled, twisted, twisted and pushed, twisted and pulled, spoken nicely to it, swore at it, all to no avail!

Then all of the above with the key in, and out!

I was clearly not pushing it firmly enough....a resounding click and the window is green!

Perhaps I can help here!

My previous Witter detachable was a little tempremental and would sometimes require a bit of persuasion to release.

I found that a firm tap with my "Thor King of Hammers" to the underside would make it submit!

I always remove mine when not towing as I have a fear of it rusting on!
