Hubby and I plan to buy our first caravan shortly so I rang Sinclair ( as our Golf still under warranty ) and they quoted me £1,200 !!!! Bonkers , obviously we won't use them but can anyone recommend a garage in Swansea area or suggest how to find one ? Thanks
The main dealers have fixed price for job that is excessive but for a fairly new car its still a good idea to use car specific wiring & it might need plugging into main dealer computer unless fitter can do it so don't expect to pay £150 & don't necessarily take cheapest quote. You want good make towbar, say Bosal or Westfalia as well as specfic wiring so ask fitting company some questions.
Hi, i have today had a Westfalia detachable tow bar fitted to my X5 by CDF Towbars and it cost me £500,unfortunately i don't think they travel outside of the West Midlands, however PF Jones i believe have mobile fitters all over the Uk and come highly recommended, the only reason i didn't use them was CDF were cheaper.

Who ever you choose, ensure that they are able to reprogramme the ECU to take into account the tow bar electrics.

Never heard that one before
Yes some cars you cant just join it to the loom and expect it to work, So the ecu needs to know whats going on.
