are the prices of parts for the Skoda rellly that expensive and scarce ....... or maybe it is just some one uninsured that needs to repair their crashed car.
In the local newspaper up here a Skoda dealer has, appharently, had a break in, through the window of their showroom ...... what was stolen???
Well they stripped parts off one of the Skoda Fabia's in there and took the bonnet, radiator, front bumper, lights and lights housing and the air-con compressor and condensor.
Lots of Skoda parts are also the same as parts on Volkswagen as they are all part of same group, and are not noted for cheapness compared to Ford ect.
My son is a service manager been in the trade all his working life, working for dealers for all makes of car, and it is not uncommon for this to happen, but usually mechanical parts more-so than body parts other than bumpers.
Don't go to the dealers for parts unless its absolutely necessary, order from any motor factors online or go to the one near you, most parts are identical, and most will have come off the same production line, but up to 50% cheaper, just in different packaging

some motor factors are more expensive than the main dealers, just check prices first.my mate got an egr valve from local factors was over £200 trade price and main vauxhall dealer was £110 retail. guess which 1 got returned
I do not know if spare parts are expensive or not for skoda.Last week I had a bit of a mishap with the door mirror it got broken with getting too close to a wheelie bin and it got pushed forward and broke at the hinge.Super glue would have done the job but with fixing the towing mirrors on it, it would not have lasted so main dealers here I come, £247 it cost, is this dear comparing to other make and models I do not know.By the way the mirrors comes in there parts, and the part I broke was the one where the electric motor was in and only that part was replaced
EM
Cheap compared to the same thing for a SsangYong Rexton, £350
------------- XVI yes?

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
