Have been using a pair of milenco mirrors whilst towing , but find these vibrate and shake so bad can hardly see the van behind.
The mirrors attach with the rubber straps and have them as tight as I can ,have tried using elastic bands to try and stop them shaking but it is a total waste of time, anyone recommend some mirrors? Don't want t buy some more and have the same issue.
hi, is it the towing mirrors that is vibrating or the mirror that they are mounted on.had a problem with the n/s mirror on car that was loose and when towing mirror attached was worse.managed to tighten pivot on the car mirror and problem sorted. i use milenco screw on mirrors
The mount is tight and so is the mirror itself, can't really see why it vibrates and moves so much, even tried selotape around the edge to see whether that would help, made no difference.
We have the Millenco mirrors which clamp onto the edge of the mirror casing. They are fine. We had to change the rubber pads to make a better fit on our Sorento casings.
The standard clamps have a flat rubber grip, the Sorento 2010 on.( also for Freelander 2 -I think) pads are shaped to give a better grip.

I have used the strap on mirrors in the past and they are a waste of time. The Milenco Grand Aero mirrors are far the best and always get the best vote every time on this forum. There are plenty of threads on this topic if you search for them.
ive been using the milenco mirrors for 5 years now, simply brilliant, large view area and attach easy,no movement at all.And you get a nice blue carry bag that i now use for awning pegs.
Another big fan of the Millenco Grand Aero mirrors here too, best and most stable I've ever had. Plus lots of extras available like extension bars and shaped pads to get an exact fit.

blueexpo97 the sets of mirrors I have looked at are a pair of convex or a pair of flat they don't seem to be one of each, did wonder about just buying the glass and frame and transfer them onto the arms of the milenco mirrors I already have not sure if the arm is the same on the grand aero, silly question really but why one of each and which side would I put the flat mirror? the ones I have already are the shaped ones and they are both convex
Just been to my very helpful Catravan dealer >tried every mirror in the shop to fit my 2014 Hyundai IX35 cannot get any to fit close to securly. This included several Millenco versions .
Any IX35 owners with a solution .
was going for Millenco as whilst cheaper options are about all reviews every wheere are very good.
I found the strap-on mirrors wobbly - it seemed to be the narrowness of the ball joint between the arms and the mirror bit itself. Plus fitting to Yeti/Tiguan was a right beggar. The Maypole copy of Milencos, the one woth two clamps, didn't fit - gap too narrow between mirror and surround.
Someone on here recommended the ones that fit with suckers; on the strength of that I bought a pair -one convex (for overtaking side), one plain. They have a breakaway cable; but the amount of suction was awesome. I was surprised how tight they stuck, and how stable, on the short test drive. Haven't used them in anger yet. Will report, if needed, after next trip!
