Hi, best safest route from Newcastle to Appleby some say the A66 near Bowes is not recommended for caravans I thought I would ask the experts.cheers

Not an expert as he does the towing, the A66 is no problem at all use it everytime we go to the Lakes.

A66 is fine , many caravans use it everyday
