??? The allowance for 4 people and their lugguage should be a lot more than the 154kg shown above and is the difference between the GVW marked on a plate on the vehicle and the kerbweight..

The difference between the 1600kg min and 1754kg max kerbweight is more likely to cover the difference between the manual and automatic kerbweights and may also take into account any optional extras that could have been fitted (ie side steps, etc)

Grampian, Kia have just confirmed what you say. The 1600kg is for the lowest spec model ...mine ,the 1754kg is for the top if the range model with all extras fitted.
However, this raises another question.
In terms of technical spec,ie suspension ,engine ,etc ,the lowest and highest spec models are identical.But by Kia adding extra weight to the base model increases the Kerbweight ,so if I put 100kg of luggage in my car will that make the Kerbweight 1700kg for working out the car to caravan ratio?
