I have a 2011 Outlander,we have recently been having problems with first and third gears. The dealer said it was down to the clutch bearing, they have changed all the clutch but that it is not covered by the warranty and they want over £1000.......I wouldn't pay when we collected the car as I thought it was a gear box problem, they agreed to let us take the car and see what happened. We still have problems, sometimes it is hard to get out of first, sometimes hard to get into third but not all the time, they took the car back in,took it for a test drive and said nothing is wrong with it!
Has anyone else got similar problems?
They have changed the clutch......waiting to here back from them as I said I will pay for the clutch parts but not labour as the new clutch has not resolved the problem!
Is it something as simple as not depressing the clutch fully? Is there a car mat underneath preventing it doing down all the way, or do you sit too far back to depress the clutch fully.
Its certainly not a common problem on the sister car, the ASX, though some early cars had stiffness going from 1st to 2nd.
