Looking at travelling from ferrybridge area to Addingham near Skipton for the Grand Depart this Friday afternoon (approx 3pm). Can anyone local advise me on the most favourable route for time/traffic. I'll be towing a large twin axle caravan. My 2 options look to be A1/A63 Leeds ring road then Otley/Ilkley etc.
Or A1 upto Wetherby,then via Harewood/Pool in Warfedale/Otley/Ilkley.

I've used the 2nd route once before when travelling to Gargrave but with the increased traffic expected in the area what's the Leeds ring road likely to be like?

Can't advise on which route, at that time on a Friday both routes are busy anyway, this weekend just expect delays. I live just down the road from Addingham .

CAN tell you that the Addingham chippy is open from 6 am both days selling everything from breakfasts to pie and peas to african rice! And there are some good pubs in the village too! Hope you have a brilliant Tour weekend.

Just had a thought - check the road closures, there's alot going on at Harewood House tomorrow so there are closures in that area which willaffect the pool-otley route.

Alot of people don't seem to realise road closures start tomorrow in some areas.

Stay away from Harewood as the A61 is closed today.
