We have a vauxhaul zafira 53 plate, we think we may upgrade in the next year or two. We have heard you can get universal tow bars, could we move this to a new car in the future? we may get a new style zafira so perhaps we don't need a universal tow bar and could move the tow bar to new car. Anyone know about tow bars? Thanks in advance for any replies/advice.

No such thing. Every towbar is unique. The only ones that fit several veicles are when the floorplan is the same.

Sometimes even having a different model can mean a new towbar. So it may fit an LX not not the GLX etc.

The Zafira your shape only goes upto 2005 so limited. And excludes the GSI models.

Hi, years ago tow bars were made by all sorts of firms and just drilled chassis and bolted on. now TO BE LEGAL have to be type approved to the specific mounting points as stipulated by the vehicle manufacturer.
