I would try to find a diesel car about that size, and I know im going to get shot down, but the mark one skoda superb 1.9 tdi with 130 BHP will tow that van and return 35 plus when towing, other makes are available
Should you decide on a mark one, up to 2008 skoda don't get the 2ltr diesel 140 bhp version due to oil problems

Try looking for a Lunar Lexon DS .... the Ultima was probably based on this model. Ultima is definately a dealer special.

Hi folks, I think I was probably so tired last night I couldn't see the wood for the trees. I've come in from work and immediately found this information;

Length = 4735 mm
Width = 1805 mm
Height = 1480 mm
Wheelbase = 2720 mm
Kerb Weight = 1468 Kg
Gross Weight = 1960 Kg
Towing Limit = 1700 Kg
Boot Capacity Min = 420 ltr
Splitfold = Std

therefore I just need to match that with the caravan information, thank you IanM, and it should give me a solution.

It appears the Lunar is 1450kg laden.

Is your car the diesel or petrol?   If its a petrol then the caravan may weigh more than your car. Not recommended.

If its a diesel then the car has the edge very slighty. Your towing around 99%
