Sorry to butt in on this one. I need some advice though. I have a 2001 1.9tdi galaxy which only has 105K on it. I don't do a lot of mileage mainly because I have 2 motorbikes for day to day. But the gearbox has just gone and it looks like a bit spend to repair. I'm torn between pulling the plug on something that needs over £1500 (I may be wrong but the auto chap said I need to sit down when he calls) but has no other faults - engine and body work are fine. Or, spend the £1500 plus whatever I can get for the Galaxy on another tug. The auto chap said buy Japanese but its hard to find a people carrier from the rising sun. The mpv is a big help 'cos I'm 6'3" and saloons are a pain in the lower back. What are the merivas like? Thanks for any help folks. John
