Pity I couldn't have said the same about RAC Arrival last year. They took my car into the Volvo dealer in Poole, Dorset because it couldn't be fixed at the road side but due to a lack of co-operation the Volvo dealer said they couldn't fix it (didn't want to more like it). However, they refused to collect my car because I already had the one tow so my car was then 15 miles away from the rally field where our caravan was pitched. After a lengthy debate they eventually agreed to collect my car but wanted to charge me to tow my caravan 185 miles back home. It took 15 hours to organise a rescue whereby a flat bed truck with car on the back eventually came to the rescue to pick up the caravan. When I got home I made an official complaint and all I got was an apology saying that the staff on call at the time were only trainees.

A while ago I posted on here that I had to call Green Flag as I was worried about being short of fuel whilst towing my van, having been caught on the M25/M3 in a traffic jam. Having visiting several closed fuel stations and one that had run of diesel.
Long story short, they said park up and we will send a man out with some fuel.He arrived after a while, from Southampton and all was good. About a week later I got a letter from them apologising and because they were just over the 1 hour attending next years membership is reduced by 50%

Well as I said was it luck? or was it one of? who knows but the man that came out was a local recovery man. From what he said green flag only got a few vans themselves, most of there work is carried out by local garages and recovery agents. So its got to be faster being local people and that's why they promise £10 back if they take more than an hour to come out, and that's why they recorded the time when you phone in requesting there service.First time ever I have use an emergency breakdown service and the last I hope but at least I can sleep easy knowing I got a good cover

They are very good. My Saab had a fuel leak in London on a Saturday, they were with us within about 40 mins but were unable to get a part that late on.
Towed me to my nephews house and relayed us home on the Sunday. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
On Monday they came and took the car to local garage to be repaired.
Can't fault it.

It took them 4 hours to come out and rescue me and my two young children on Monday of this week. I've complained but not heard anything yet

We have only had to use them once. They arrived within the hour. The basic cover only cost £18 can't complain at that price!

We are in Green Flag / CC Mayday, Found them to be great and very helpful. My mate also with caravan was in RAC , he burnt a clutch out on his discovery , out came the RAC carted him of to a garage left him there only for the garage to tell him they would not look at his discovery and RAC would not come out to take him to a garage that would. A small garage nearby came out to recover the discovery and then repaire at a cost of 2K ! WOW. Only Green Flag for me.

I get my recovery home start etc free of charge from my bank. My wife also gets same from her bank which covers me also for traveling abroad. Our van insurance also provides cover with Britannia recovery. So we have choice of Three but never used yet touch wood. I think we will have to toss a coin to see who to call if we do need assistance. Or If I am driving alone call RAC or with van call Britannia Or with wife my back seat driver call  AA

Please read the small print on these policies free from banks they are only basic cover and certainly won't cover your caravan. I for one got caught out. Caravan club Mayday is the only cover to buy, you won't be let down.

Another thumbs up for green flag from me ,a few years ago we were on holiday in a static ,two days in I broke my wrist after a fall ,green Flag could not have been more helpfull ,they gave us a time for pick up by low loader ,it arrived right on time ,they relayed us up to Coventry where another low loader was already waiting and they took us home ,the driver even parked my car on the drive for me .nothing to much trouble for them .
Had to use them once with a blowout on our caravan and again ,fast good service .far superior to the rac IMHO

+1 from me
I think they are the best especially if you have a caravan, if you brake down on way to site they will take you the rest of the way and then take you home at the end of holiday.
