any one know if a LMC from 2001 will be a 13 pin or 2x7 pins?
also Can you tow a van with just a 12N plug ( ie all the lights but no internals) as I currently only tow a trailer with a 12n don't have a 12s attached

The 13 pin plug didn't come out until around 2010 so unless one has been retro fitted it will be the old type I thought the 12s was only for the fridge/battery charger and such like
That was my thought on the 13 pins BUT since its a German van they were introduced a lot earlier on the continent.
The question over the 12S plug was really can I Legally tow as that also runs the reversing lights,
I know the rest of the running lights will work from (and I'm not too bothered about the fridge)

"The 13 pin plug didn't come out until around 2010"
My Burstner is 2005 and was fitted with a 13 pin plug and when I was looking to purchase in 2004 they were fitted then.

If the 'van is 13yrs old then nobody can answer your question as plug could have been changed at any time. Older German 'vans used a different 13pin plug to the current standardised one, I think. They never did use our twin plug system. If its been used in UK it will most likely have either current 13pin or 7pin 12n.
If you are going to collect 'van & are unsure of plug then take a single 7 to 13 pin adaptor for your car socket & you should be ok.
