hi all,
been looking for a site for next season and the one we like has only got 6amp electric supply. is this enough or will we struggle to have the heating and tv etc on?

Roughly its 4 amps per 1000 watts so you will have around 1500 watts at your disposal not a lot, Most caravan heaters are 2000 watts at max setting but a lot you can turn down to a 1000 watts You will also need a low wattage kettle etc

You could always run the heating on gas instead.

Thousands of us manage perfectly OK in France with a 6 amp connection but that does tend to be in the Spring and Summer. Even so most vans can run heating at 1000 watts on the lowest setting and this can be augmented with gas. You will also have to invest in low wattage appliances like a kettle. Its strange only to have 6 amps in the UK?

We went on a site with 6 amp.It was a right pain the electric was forever triping.The owner did this on purpose to stop people using very much electric.
