Hi....I have the offer to buy an abi transtar award caravan from a friend....it's lovely.... My car licence was obtained after 97.... I think I need to sit a towing test?...How do I find out weight of caravan in kg?...My car may be too small to pull....(will deal with that later lol).....can anyone help?....I would also like to know what size of trailer etc minimum do I need to use to pass test?...apologies for complete lack of knowledge....told ya I'm a newbie :-)... Thanks in advance

Hi what car have got . The weight of caravan is near door on metal plate or has yer mate got a hand book for caravan

You need to find three numbers

GVW of car which is the top of 4 numbers on the weight plate usually hidden under the bonnet or in a door frame

GTW of car which is the second from top number of those four on the plate

MTPLM of caravan which is on a weight plate usually near the door

To help you a little - what is the exact model of car and caravan as we might be able to get those figures from the internet
