Apologies if has been asked before. I have searched all over and can't find the MPTLM weight.

Having looked on V5 all it states is

Max.permissible mass 1930

Mass in service 1526

Anyone help please?

Look at the plate probably at the bottom of the drivers B post, that will give you the maximum train weight.

3130kg
1- 1150kg
2- 1100kg

1526 kg = kerb weight
1930kg = GVW
3130kg = GTW
GTW - GVW = 1200 which is usually the max towing capacity

CC recommends that for newbies the 85% of kerb would be about 1300 for a caravan MTPLM but as the max towing is likely to be 1200 then a caravan with a 1200 limit is better

1930 + 1200 = 3130 which is under the max 3500 limit for B only licence towing

max towing weight is 1200kg with a 75kg towball noseweight

Hi how can the Caravan Club rate this as the best tow car of the year, when it has such a low towing limit .

When was it rated best towcar?   Reviews said go for the 1.6 over the 1.5 if you plan on towing. I think thats 1800kg max?

Although i dont think the kerbweight is anywhere near that.

VW and their variants seem to win. VW Jetta, Skoda Superb, Seat Leon.
