i tour with a small caravan.. just did 1800 miles around Scotland.. had a chat with a couple of large motorhomers.. watched one struggle like hell getting his front wheel drive long rear overhang vehicle of a patch of grass i had no trouble with.. talked the pros and cons with another wild camper.. he said at least yours bends in the middle.. i said yours gets accepted in a more friendly way.. gypsies dont use motor homes.. :)

towns.. i avoid them.. village spar shops provide the essentials.. sites well they are handy for emptying the loo and topping up with water.. plus i did leave the van for a couple of days on one (sango sands) for some van-less looking about..

ps.. a lot of the motorhomes i came across in Scotland were actually hired.. hiring seems the common thing..
