hi all, a friend is selling a galaxy 1.8 on a 59 reg.

hes been offered a company car and is selling the galaxy.

I tow with a passat estate and have towed with heavier 4*4 in the past.

I was wondering if anyone tows with a 1.8 diesel, and what caravan do you tow.

I know that the towing limit is 1400 kg

Current shape Galaxy can have 1.8diesel. Dual mass flywheels tend to fail as early as 60k miles on these cars. check it has had a replacement, if not check replacement cost.

I will let others argue about the merits or not of fitting solid flywheel to these cars.

hi, have changed a flywheel and clutch on my passat, i know what to look for and what a knackered one sounds like.
Changing one isnt too difficult if you take your time.

More worried about the engine size being only a 1.8 wondering if its a bit gut less, it drives ok when not towing.

My van is under 1400 kg so legal to tow with this.

The car is heavy enough but the manufacturers limit is 1400
