Hello all
All to common story, new to caravaning bought one off gum tree - looked fine and fell in love, now have it home found quite a bit of damp - but have checked out forums esp Wizard and feel confident to tackle , just one thing should I re-seal rails first or tackle the damp inside first ?
for now I have put duck tape over the rails and windows outside the areas I suspect the water is entering the van.... any advice apreaciated
If the damp is structural you will need to repair/replace the affected area first, otherwise you will be trying to attach awning rails to rotten wood only to find you will need to remove them again later.
By all means sheet or tape over the point(s) of ingress, but you need to remove all the rot and replace it with sound wood. After all, that`s what holds it together.
