My S plug got scrunched... dont ask.... OK I thought rewiring is not an issue ...bought a new S plug just follow the standard diagrams showing various wire colours....
yellow/ red/ green/ white /blue/ black
however the Hymer bless its socks has different coloured wires.....
red/ blue/ white/ grey/ orange/ black
Differences :
the red/blue are actually white with a coloured stripe in it..not solid clour like the black/orange/grey
no yellow or green as per "standard" specs
but orange and grey
cannt find any reference anywhere as to the correct sequence??? Help ??
Somewhere I have a picture of the back of an S plug from my Hymer Nova 2003 which should be identical to yours. If I can not find it I will go out and tke the back off my s plug and take a picture of it. Watch this space.
Picture not good. I could not find the old one but the socket that is on was wired incorrectly and the wire that should be permanently live was not connected. So thank you for asking my van is now wired correctly.
Pin 1 is Orange
Pin 2 is empty
pin 3 is Grey
pin 4 is pink
pin 5 is empty
pin 6 is red and white
pin 7 is black and white

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Blimey that was quick and what a very nice thing to offer...... they are cracking caravans arent they....found mine in a field last year hadnt been moved for 3 years and covered in grundge..came up lovely though ... look forward to your reply some time
Regards Peter
Looking at your post and my post the colours are different again. Though looking at them and thinking of how my caravan works I am not even sure now that mine are correct. Methinks that an email to Hymer is required.

Hmmm the plot thickens
1)so "standard" yellow is orange and the reversing lights
2) standard blue is a spare ie empty in your case
3) standard white return for circuit to pin 4 = grey
4) standard green = pink (prob my red) ...it should be 12v power feed to charge battery
5)standard empty = your empty
6) standard red = red+white to run fridge from car
7) standard black = your black and white ... should be return for pin 6 ie the fridge when car is running.
Just to check are you looking at then end of the plug on the outside or having opened the plug looking at the back of the circle of slots or fixings...
OK more to the plot....
Looking at the back of the plug ( where the numbers are) I connected...as yours except my dirty white
Pin 1 Orange
Pin 2 blue stripe
pin 3 grey
pin 4 white well a dirty white but not red as you mention
pin 5 empty
pin 6 is red and white
pin 7 is black and white
Result: fridge not working and reversing light on full time
So trying various combinations I now have the reversing lights coming when in reverse gear and the fridge works with the following connections:
1 dirty white
2 blue stripe (spare)
3 red stripe
4 orange
5 empty
6 grey
I thought 2 and 6 might be the opposite way round but the fridge doesnt work.
So different again to yours!.. I will email Hymer and see if I get a reply?
thanks for your time and help

I would just like to thank Fieldvent for making me get up off my backside and doing something. I knew my battery was not charging but blamed ( correctly ) the battery charger, I knew my reversing lights did not work and blamed (correctly ) the vans wiring. So having been motivated to look at things I found a wire in the S plug loose and pointing at the wrong pin which sorted out my reversing lights, and having followed the wiring through to the charger confirmed that there was a problem inside the charger. So I opened up the charger found a Torroidal inductor lying loose on the bottom of the casing. A quick look showed where it came from and a quick replace and then out with the soldering iron to refix the item into place has solved that problem. So because of a question about wiring I have now got everything working perfectly. Thankyou.
Mind you looking at the mail above I do not have said blue stripe cable but since everything works I am not going looking for it.
