I had an auto Aventura and loved it for towing, just didn't use it often enough to justify keeping it. Had an L200 a couple of years ago and found it was far more "commercial" to drive. The Nissan uses a fair bit of fuel but apart from that I couldn't fault it.
We have a friend who bought one to tow his caravan and sometimes his speed boat trailer, lovely ride but he did cringe at the awfully low mpg when towing, with a range of between 10 to 14mpg, eventually he sold the boat and traded it in for a more economical tug, a Range Rover.

I had the Outlaw version (2007 new shape) and towed around France in it. I towed a Ranger 550/6 and mostly in sixth gear on cruise control. Averaged about 22 mpg on the trip, about 32 mpg solo, in two wheel drive mode. Very comfortable to drive. I had the canopy on th back and carried th kids bikes, a patio set from B&Q c/w parasol and all sorts in the back with a bike rack on the tow bar. 100kg nose weight (I think) so will pull just about anything.
