Hi guys, we have today put a deposit down on our first caravan. I was wondering if any of you helpful people own, or have owned a Stirling Eccles Topaz? And your thoughts on it. It's a lovely clean van, 2008' one owner from new, full service history. But, still can't help but feel nervous that we have purchased the right caravan. Would love to hear good or bad. Thanks.

We owned a 2004 Sterling Eccles Topaz from new and kept it for about six years. We found it to be an excellent caravan which we had very few issues with.

Right choice as in the layout? You may change your mind after spending a couple of weeks in the van or after a couple of years you may decide another layout would suit your needs better.

Our first van had a double at each end and was great, But after a couple of years we decided we needed a different layout.
Eventually ending up with a rear bathroom and side diner layout. It must suit our needs as we have owned it for over 14 years.
I have looked but thought the only way the van we were looking at would improve our needs would be that its easier to wash.
Ours has that bobbled texture which is a pain to clean.

As you probably know, Stirling 'vans are the mid range offering from Swift Group caravans.

I have a Sprite, which is the Swift Groups "entry level" offering. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing to worry about with any Swift product.

We bought a new Stirling in 2000, major damp repair in 2001, and written off when riddled with damp again in 2004. Stirling customer care. You must be kidding.

Never again.

2010 sterling Eccles topaz.. we've had ours nearly a year, layout works well for the two of us, well built ,everything we need for our first van ,well pleased.
There's always someone out there that will have had a bad un... just make sure there's no damp and its the right layout for you.. enjoy
