Anyone tow with a citreon multispace Mk3, i,v been looking at them, either 90bhp or 110bhp to tow our xplore 452, just wonderd what they were like to tow with, cheers.
Yes I do, but only a 700kg caravan & 110 tows that like its not there. Only thing you need to watch is that earlier Mk3s from 2006 until about 2011 allowed only 55kg noseweight but onwards from that it went up to 70kg. You need to check handbook of actual car to check this.
Cheers J&J, i,v looked on the tow sites and it says 75kg but i will check the details before i take the plunge, our van MIRO is 998kg which is fine, i,d like a 110 but they seem much less common than the 90bhp.
The 110diesel is only available in XTR trim. This is top of range model & quite popular, plenty about secondhand. XTR is only Berl with aircon as standard & most mid range VTR don't have aircon as option on this model. Whatever car you look at ensure full service history preferably from main dealer workshop as this ensures correct grade oil is used.
Missed oil changes &/or incorrect grade of oil used will result in rapid turbo bearing failure on these engines so fsh is vital.
I tow my van with the 115hp model. The previous one I had was the 110; I'd recommend these for lightweightish vans. Mine'll be around 1100kg Max and she tows beautifully without a stabiliser. Hills no problem. Best part is the super light steering and clutch. Makes it good on long journeys.
Was talking to a guy who had the earlier design, the Mk 2. He said his was OK too.
------------- Peripheral people don`t have as much excitement but they sure live longer

I might buy the Peugeot Tepee outbound instead of the berlingo version, slightly more BHP from the same engine, sits 10mm higher [not much but it all helps] and has a sump guard on them, tows 1300kgs according to Peugeot.
Teepee Outdoor, you mean. Its similar spec as Berlingo XTR that also has sumpguard & sits 10mm higher. Both cars are available in 90 & 110bhp versions & current models have 115bhp. If you are considering secondhand then far more XTRs about than Teepee Outdoors but check engine outputs on both models as higher power versions were option not standard.

They just turned the wick up and charged more for the privilege
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
When we looked at the Berlingo auto models they were not available with the 110bhp versions. I tow with a 115bhp Focus and I wouldn't want to tow with it if it had an auto box. You need more power.
As with most current cars, the autobox is a direct shift type which is similar to a manual but with electronic gearshifting. These boxes can give better mpg than manual & are as good as manual version of same engine for towing. Only available in 90bhp versions for both Cit. & Peugeot.
